Also, when I type iwconfig, I see wlan0 & wlan1 - I only have one wireless card! I do not understand why there are now two. Iwlwifi is compiled into the kernel, but when I type lspci -k, it is not loaded as a driver. When it used to work, lspci -k would show iwlwifi as a driver loaded for my card. It also works with an Ubuntu livecd, but for some reason is not working now. I've used Gentoo in the past on this laptop and iwlwifi worked just fine.
